Yumi Kim

Kim Phan knew she had a niche for fashion when she started making clothes for her Barbie dolls at the age of seven. Way before the "vintage" look was fashionable, she took her mother's old shirts and revamped them by cutting and adding trimming to each piece. By the time she was in high school, Kim was already making her own dresses for homecoming and prom. Armed with her love for fashion, she moved to New York City, only days after graduation from San Diego State University. Kim acquired an enviable opportunity in the music industry with her natural charisma and outgoing personality which gave her a chance to work with celebrities, stylists and fashion trendsetters. In 2004 Kim returned to her first and foremost love for fashion and created YUMI KIM, a line inspired by vintage prints and silhouettes...with a touch of funk and urban femininity.
